Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

Are you serious:

Lindsay Lohan doesn't want to be called a Teen Queen. In an interview in the March issue of Allure magazine, now on newsstands, the 19-year-old says she wants to be considered a serious actress - and rejects her youthful, party-girl image.

"I hate it when people call me a teen queen," Lohan says in an interview.

Hello Ms. Lohan, you are nineteen years old. Technically you are a teenager. Now about this serious actress garbage, YOU HAVE NOT MADE A SERIOUS MOVIE YET. Herbie Fully Loaded actually disqualifies you from consideration. Listen up Lohan, your clock as started, 15 minutes comes and goes.

The Court wastes No time

It only took one month?? Are you kidding me?? Justice Alito and Chief Justice Roberts, the newest two members of the Supreme Court, seem almost excited to get their feet wet...

The Supreme Court said Tuesday it will consider the constitutionality of banning a type of late-term abortion, teeing up a contentious issue for a newly-constituted court already in a state of flux over privacy rights.

First, any informed opinoin about Aborition has to under stand the Supreme Courts ruling on Privacy. Griswold v. Connecticut 381 U.S. 479 (1965), Read it than we can move on.

There are going to be alot of posts over the next couple days/weeks with my relfections about my 17 years involved in swimming. They will hopefully be insightful, but life is not a ray of sunshine and everything doesn't go right in the end like we are all taught.

Sling Shot

This morning during the Mike and Mike Radio show (I watch on Espn 2) Bill Walton was a guest on the program and pitched this pretty interesting device.

Transforming Windows XP based PCs and laptops into personal on-the-go digital TVs, the Slingbox™ allows individuals anywhere-anytime access to their own living room television experience with no additional monthly service fees. Enabling consumers to watch their cable, satellite, or digital video recorder (DVR) programming from wherever they are, the Slingbox turns any Internet-connected laptop or desktop PC into a personal TV. The Slingbox redirects, or "placeshifts", a single live TV stream from a cable box, satellite receiver, or DVR to the viewer's PC located anywhere in the home. If the Slingbox is coupled with a broadband Internet connection, the viewer's live TV stream can be "placeshifted" via the Internet to a PC located anywhere in the world.

Going to school in Eastern Iowa and living in the Chicago Land area, I could care less about the Eastern Iowa News. I don't care too much for the Iowa Hawkyees and there really is not that much going on in Dubuque. The channels cover Iowa City, Dubuque, Cedar Rapid(the Crapids) and Waterloo, none of which I care too much about. I want to know how my Cubbies, Illini, Blackhawks and Bulls are doing. It also would be nice to know what is going on at home. For $250 and the ability to find out whats going on at home, that is not a bad price at all.

Todd Walker

This situatin is starting to annoy me. During the offseason, the Cubs picked up Walker's $2.5 million contract option for this upcoming season. After picking up the option, the Cubs decied to place him on the trading block.

"Should I constantly defend myself or should I let it roll? I'm at the point now where I just want to be on this team and win and play," Walker said. "If the Chicago Cubs didn't have a chance to win, I wouldn't be as excited about being here. I believe we have a great chance if we can keep everybody healthy and out there every fifth day like the Cardinals do. This team, [the injuries] over the past couple years, it's like something I've never even heard before."

How does a team with a $100 million payroll not do anything. If you ask Jim Hendry he couldn't tell you. Dusty Baker would probably blame it on the rookies. To be fair, i blame both Hendry and Baker. Its time to move on Jim Hendry go make stupid trade after stupid trade somewhere else. With the exception of D. Lee and (going out on a limb) Matt Murton, who has this man brought in worth talking about (Prior was drafted because they did good enough to draft number 3). Todd Walker was a free agent who wanted to and still wants to play in Chicago. Walker committed only 6 errors in 110 games and would have batted over .300 and probably had more RBIs if he had the ability to. Maybe the best move Hendry ever made was to get rid of Corey Patterson, but why not do it during a season when the man has trade value. Here is to you Todd Walker for putting up with the stupidity, you are a good ball player and will continue to be a force on the Cubs lineup, or any lineup you end up on.
