9th batter is....

The 9th Circuit is back at it:

U.S. District Judge Lawrence Karlton ruled that the pledge's reference to one nation "under God" violates school children's right to be "free from a coercive requirement to affirm God."

History Lesson, Supreme Court is created in Article III(not by the Judiciary Act of 1789 if you are from Court TV), the rest of the Courts are up to the authority of Congress. So this can almost gurantee that the splitting of the 9th is almost certain.

Still Number 1 in my Heart

Interesting News out of my hometown:

Naperville police are investigating a report of a flasher at the Nichols Library downtown.

According to police, a woman said a man in his late 30s or early 40s exposed himself to her in the library on Aug. 31 at 2:50 p.m. The incident happened while the woman worked at a desk on the second floor, police said.

First of All my Dad is in Detroit, so its not him. This is gross. Downtown Naperville is a nice place for families, Jr. Highschoolers, and 21-29 year olds, lets keep it that way. You are not impressing anyone.

John Roberts rolling

This morning while getting ready for class, I was able to watch a little of the Nomination Hearings for John Roberts. His answers t0 the questions were pretty much what I thought:

A persistent Biden sought Roberts' opinion on whether any law could trump the right to die, but the nominee would say little more than his oft-repeated response that it would be inappropriate to comment on a case that he might decide.

"There are cases that come up exactly in that context ... before the court," Roberts said. "I will confront them with an open mind. They won't be based on my personal views. They will be based on my understanding of the law."

Its Wayne's World, Wayne's World, Party Time

SNL needs Serious Medical Attention:

"Saturday Night Live" comedian-writer Tina Fey has given birth to her first child.

Fey, co-anchor of Weekend Update, the fake news desk of "SNL," gave birth Saturday in New York to a daughter, Alice Richmond, an NBC spokesman said Monday.

Great 31 year run, but maybe time has run out on this tradition. In my mind, ever since the introduction of Will Ferrell, SNL was doomed. When Will came on to SNL he created the ultimate conclusion. His ability to control the set and the stage was amazing. You could not take your eye off him. That is a problem for me because when i was growing up, everyone was team player. There were not just Mike Meyers sketches, except for Wayne's World instead everyone had just about a fair share of the screen. Tina Fey is hysterical and I look foward to weekend updates, but without her, i don't know how much longer people can watch this show?

Lisa, the hidden

Elizabeth Taylor from the Tribune Editorial staff wrote an article about Lisa Madigan:

"Lisa Madigan's rise in politics is a chapter in Illinois state government that bears notice," says Ray. "Her election as attorney general showed us it certainly doesn't hurt that your father is the speaker of the House and the Illinois Democratic Party chairman, but now that she has held the job for more than two years, she is showing us what she can do on her own."

This article shows the real ugly side of politics, dynasties. The Madigan family might not be a major player on the nation scene, but control of the City of Chicago is just as profitable. Talking about how she has slowly and slowly become a recluse and hidden from the eyes shows what happens when people get elected.

Poor Mad Dog

Pitchers cannot win games, if the batters do not score runs:

Maddux (12-12) took the loss, serving up two runs on five hits over seven innings while striking out five. The veteran is vying to become the first pitcher to win at least 15 games in 18 consecutive seasons, and has three starts remaining.

"You can't control the outcome of the game, but you can control what you put into it and that's what I'm going to do," Maddux said. "I'm going to continue to do that until the season is over.

You just have to feel bad for the futur Hall of Famer that most teams match their number one starter up against him. Dusty needs to stop lying to his to team and focus on a goal of .500, then you can worry about making the playoffs. They do not play in the NL West.

Mr. Dix, Where is your blog?

Political Web Pages are really starting to get at my last nerve. I was recently lucky enough to come upon a "political web page" for Bill Dix. Mr. Dix is running for 1st Congressional District in Iowa. His web page is missing the most important part. A BLOG!! Listen Up, Why are Blogs important to Political Campaigns. THE ONSET OF RSS. Keep people coming back to the Page. Before I even met Parrillo I was a reader and a fan of his blog. I keep going back to the Joincross site to see what was next. From that web page, I learned a little more about issues. These boring no blog political sites need to go. Get a blogger!

Happy BDay

Today marks the 51st Birthday of George William Petruck J.R. Happy birthday Dad, hopefully another 51!!

Where the Party At?

It looks as though the people of Cicero are partying too much:

Beyond debate is that the number of block parties in Cicero has risen dramatically in recent years. According to town records, there were 16 block parties in 2000, followed in successive summers by 36, 39, 40 and 43 parties.

This year, the growing trend continued, with 55 permits issued between Memorial Day and Labor Day, meaning that a typical weekend had four block parties throughout Cicero. By ordinance, the most block parties allowed on a single day is four, and no block can have more than one per year.

In order to receive a permit, organizers must submit a $100 refundable deposit and collect signatures from at least 75 percent of the property owners or residents in the designated area.

But they don't seem to mind people extorting money. Next thing you know people are going to be flushing their toilets too many times. This really isn't one of those issues that people needs to worry about so much especially in that area. There are other issues and concerns, Gangs, Drugs, just to name a few, that actually need the attention of the outside.

Mickey's Dog

Is Pluto really a planet?

The researchers, led by Marc Buie of the Lowell Observatory, have found dark areas thought to be dirty water-ice and brighter ones indicating nitrogen frost. Red areas indicate methane ice and possibly other organics (carbon-based molecules).

The methane frost seems to be everywhere, running into dark and light areas on "a hemispheric level", said Dr Buie.

How about we goto the Moon again? There is much significance into understanding the "9" planets and most of it deals with understanding where we come from. But maybe we need to goto Pluto after we revisit our friend the Moon.

Mickey in China

The Walt Disney Corp is going across seas yet once again:

Hong Kong Disneyland, based on Lantau Island, is expected to attract more than five-and-a-half million visitors in its first year.

The project is 57% owned by the Hong Kong government, and is expected to generate $19bn over the next 40 years.

Stop this out of control spending. This is the company that cannot make enough money to let Preschoolers watch their movies without paying for them. Now they want to open a theme park in the heart of the enemy. They might as well opend a theme park in Russia during the 1980s. But in hinsight, the Disney Tee Shirts will probably come down in price.

Welcome Home!

I'm very glad that the Family Guy has returned to FOX in new episodes. Its about time to see a show that just does not care about who they run over or make fun of. Everyone is a target. Welcome home Griffen's!
