Fixing the Feedburner

Sorry about the Current status of Feedburner. I am working very hard to fix the problem. It seems the Chicago Tribune and Major League Baseball are giving me problems. Hopefully everything will be fixed by tomorrow.

Chicago's Golden and Silver Boys

Golden news from the North side, sorry about the delay, the other side is still too loud:

Maddux and Lee picked up Gold Glove Awards on Wednesday, the first time the Chicago Cubs have had multiple winners since Maddux and Mark Grace both won top defensive honors in 1992.

This was Maddux's 15th Gold Glove, second among Major League pitchers to Jim Kaat, who won 16 defensive awards in a row from 1962-77. Maddux had won 13 in a row, and his streak was interrupted in 2003 when Mike Hampton took the honor, determined in voting by Major League managers and coaches.....

Lee is the first Cubs position player to win the award since Grace did so in 1996. Grace won four Gold Gloves with the Cubs from 1992-96.

This was Lee's second Gold Glove and will complement his first National League batting title, which he won with a .335 average. The Cubs first baseman also won the top defensive honor in 2003 with the Florida Marlins.

Lee made six errors in 158 games and finished with a fielding percentage of .996. In 2003, he made five errors in 155 games. In 2004, his first year with the Cubs, Lee also made six errors in 161 games, but was edged in the Gold Glove voting by Todd Helton.

Congrats to Greg Maddux and D Lee on outstanding season in the diamond. Lee has also recieved the Silver Slugger award, awarded to best offensive position player voted on by Major League coaches and Managers, and the Silver Bat award, best batting average in respective league. Michael Barret also recieved the Silver Slugger award for catchers. Too bad he cannot call a game to save his live. Of all the radical paychecks that the tribune company is used to dulling out to busted athletes, here is someone who has earned the money. Quietly leading the National League in batting and fielding at his position. This consistant bat only missed a couple of games this year because of soreness. He made his injuries seem like nothing compared to the cry-baby pitching staff. Seriously Tribune company if you do anything right this off-season give this player more money he has earned it.

Say its so Judy, Say its so

More IlGOP Governor news, but probably the best since Edgar dropped out:

State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka has told leading Republicans that she intends to run for governor, dramatically recasting the GOP's prospects for capturing an office it had held for a quarter of a century, sources familiar with the decision said Sunday.

Topinka's move ends weeks of political indecision and personal introspection as she weighed whether to seek a fourth term as treasurer, a post she would be the odds-on favorite to win, or risk a more brutal fight for the state's top job
.

My mother and sister, both whom are huge democrates say that they would vote for Treasurer Topinka if she were to run which is interesting considering how much both of them do not like Republicans. I've always had many interesting thoughts but none as good as this. When you input a Republican Women or minority in a mix, they would have a better time gainning the undecided/independent vote. Now through in an unpopular current governor. Out comes female democrates who originally would vote for Blagoavich, because they simply do not like republicans, who would now vote for the moderate female republican. This is useful in Chicago.
