Chop on the block

The Dems finally held the meetings about Social Security:

State Rep. Linda Chapa LaVia of Aurora and representatives from Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan's Chicago office explained to the nearly 100 audience members how the current Social Security program works.....

So, Linda, Do you know anything about the pension system you voted for? Do you think that has anything to do with Social Security? Oh wait a minute, the pension system is a state matter and i guess your title is Rep. (But isn't that State Rep?) I think somebody should check the Constitution. It seems the ILLINOIS House Dems are wasting state time on something that seems more like Federal issue. But thats just me. Talk about efficient Government!

"I think we've got serious issues at the state level that need to be addressed by the legislature, and instead the Democrats are having hearings on a federal issue that has absolutely nothing to do with the state legislature," said David Dring, spokesman for House Republican Leader Tom Cross of Oswego.
