Justice Roberts, the man??

John Roberts quickly went from becoming a powerful person, to likely the 2nd most powerful person in the country:

Seizing a historic opportunity to reshape the Supreme Court, President Bush swiftly chose conservative John Roberts as chief justice Monday and weighed how to fill another vacancy that could push the nation's highest court to the right on issues from abortion to affirmative action.

Regardless of what he originally thought this job entiled, the stakes have been raisen to a new level. Mr. Roberts, I hope will be a fair and balanced member leaving politics out of the court.
